Like Jon's newlywed, my son's '85 745i doesn't appear to have this "turbo time control box". And yet, his turbo seems to work just fine. What's the function of this unit, and why isn't it there, like in the picture that you've shown? Just curious.

Jens, do you know? Could the pic that Todd shows be for a different vintage of 745i?
