This refers to the block configuration when viewed from the front, like a V-8; different configurations have included I, T for straight engines , I believe L refers to the BMW's single overhead cam design on a straight block.


I have a Euro 735i that will be giving up it's engine for my Euro 535i. It is a "L" Block and I would like to know what this means.
