You will need the entire motor as the oil cooling and pistons are completly different, the head as well... The wiring harness is special to the 745i, the fuel pumps, AFM, and all intake/exhaust stuff, down pipe with turbo etc...The rest of the items are the same... Though to add a disclaimer, there might be a couple of small items I am missing... Good luck, you'll enjoy it!

I recently found a 80 745 in a local boneyard that has a complete engine. I was thinking about installing it on my car and am wondering - do I need to pull the whole engine? Are the pistons different from a same year 3.3/3.5FI? Can I just pull the head with turbo, manifolds and computer to mount on my engine??

TIA!
