Just finished doing something similar... Yes, the motor mounts and arms should come from the E28, the p/s pump may or may not be different as well as the a/c. The main thing to consider in doing this is the main wiring harness. The E23 won't fit the E28 relay/fuse box. You will have to use the E28 3.5 wiring... other than that it's a piece of cake - took a weekend to swap, no biggie... Oh, wait the cooling hoses are diffent too, but I bought all new ones anyway - very easy to get to those hard to reach ones when the motors in... I would also suggest replacing oil pan gasket, rear output seal, ex/intake gaskets, thermostat and gasket, etc... I spet $200 to insure that I wouldn't be cursing myself later when I needed to replace all that when the motor was in and it would take hours and bloodshed to fix... Just my .02 worth...Good luck,
Edward
I am in the process of removing an engine from a Euro 735i to a Euro 535i, and wanted to know if it was common for a E23 Euro 735i to have a 5spd, Oil cooler, L-block, and a LS Diff?? I can not believe the goodies on this car, my E28 will receive all :) Will I have any problems swiching the parts to the E28?? I know I will have to change the motor mounts, but what about the other parts??
Thanks
