Also, are you getting battery voltage on the red wire (30)? I'm a little puzzled by your 6V reading. If you're getting 12V on the red wire, but don't have 12V on the green/red wire (86), jumper between 30 and 86 then check to see if you have 12V on terminals 87A & B.
