Re the speedo, Try taking the whole instrument panel out (need to remove steering wheel). Inside the instrument panel there will be batteries that can and do get corroded or just run out of juice. remove these and Head down to radio shack and purchase 2 NiCad batteries and solder them in the place of the others. put the panel back in place and the speedo should work.
I had the same problem, check out the sensor and wiring they were ok. did this fix and it worked
