because the rear "Defraust" is on its own,
fuse/relay?
Did you install it while you had batterie
still hooket up?

My rear defrost and HVAC are wired to the same spot in my fuse box. two wires underneath but they are connected at the bottom of the two fuses. (one for HVAC and one for Rear Window) i.e. a common line. so fuse - yes relay - no does that help clear things up? Sorry if I am making the issue more confusing then it has to be. And Yes the Battery was still hooked up (Stupid I know...)
