agree with former, you CANNOT mix them, the gaskets will swell and deteriorate rapidly.

You can only use DOT5 on a BRAND NEW system, including lines. You also must use stainless steel and cannot use anything rebuilt with brass sleeves...the silicon will permeate the sleeve.

Great stuff if used properly, but you should always replace your DOT 3 annually, this can easily be done at a drive in brake shop in very little time too if you do not know absolutely what you are doing
