Turbo Repair 85 745i HELP! (archive)

I thought I would tear my turbo down and clean it, but I can't figure out how to remove the turbine wheel. According to the schematic from Majestic, you just remove the nut and washer and the wheel should slide off. Hell, I'm afraid to damage anything by applying to much force. My turbo is in good shape, it had a lot of oil coking and I decided to clean it before it failed. I'm thinking of ordering a rebuild kit from Turbo City, but I would like to clean it myself. If anyone has done this before, I would appreciate some help.
