Off hand, I would say your sender is probably going bad. Are you losing power steering fluid? If so, here is your culprit.

On my 82 735i, the Brake Fluid Warning Light is coming on after I have driven the car for about 5 minutes. I checked the brake fluid level and the power steering oil level, and both are fine. I do not notice any difference in the feel of the brake pedal either. Are the sensors reliable?
