Randy, I hate to be the barrer of bad news but I must. I suspect that you have way to much oil in the system. Also the oil in the system MUST BE compatable with r134a. This would have to be PAG or POE oil. You should always flush out the system prior to using any new oil. You CANNOT FLUSH THE COMPRESSOR or the dryer. You CANNOT FLUSH the evaporater with the expansion valve in place. You should always replace the dryer any time a comversion is done. This is because the decicant used in the dryer becomes saturated with the oil from the previous charge. If your leak was on the low side of the system then once the lines leak out it will suck air. If you replaced the hose then you opened the system to moisture.

Whats half a can of Oil? If you used a 8oz combo oil/r134a can and plus what was still in the compressor You used too much. The system is designed to run on 4.8 to 5.1oz of oil.

I would recomend that you purge the system and flush it out. Drain the compressor and then blow it out with clean air. Put in a new Expansion valve designed for r134a and a Dryer. Next pull a vacuum for atleast 45 minutes and pull the vacuum from both the low and high side. This is to insure that there is vacuum between the expasion valve and the compressor. Charge the system untill you have about 44psi on the low side at 1200 rpm. High side depends on the tempature in front of the condensor. REMEMBER on EH22HP transmissions to let the car set for at least 1 minute before recranking after being in gear. This is to unload the clutch packs. Dont want to burn up the tranny!

There is no sense in doing the A/C unless you do it right. You will stay cooler in the long run.

Hope this helps
