I posted this yesterday in another area, hope it helps here...

From the looks of the pictures, it sounds like your leather was in the same shape as my 85 ///M6 soooo read on...

(but really .... the wicked UK sun .... I always did appreciate the subtle British humor... (smile...)

Here is some personal experience....

The candidates are Zymol, Lexol, Conoly Hide Food, Sofftener, and a myriad of other products....

First DO NOT EVER EVER EVER use a silicone based product (Armor-all type) on leather... period.

Ok, with that said, when I bought my 745, and my 85 ///M6, both had VERY dry leather. Over the course of 7 years with the
black buffalo hide, I have tried all the products mentioned above. Until recently the best of the lot was Conoly Hide Food. The
others are nice if the leather is in reasonable condition.

Mine was not... Does cardboard after 2 weeks in the Arizona desert sun give you the image....

Connoly was the only thing which came close to making an improvement......

Until, with Bruce's insistence ... I found Sofftener .... The leather in the ///M6 was off-green, stiff, and in a near-death condition.
After 4 applications (2 weeks apart) of the Sofftener) the leather is almost... black, and is once again flexible... No need to do
the anticipated dye job

The Zymol / Lexol group, make your car smell good, and will put a sheen on the leather, but if your leather is in need of
MAJOR life support to bring it back from sun-dried-bleached-stiff cardboard.....

There is only one answer.... Sofftener.

I'll go back to an occasional treatment of the others just for the smell and sheen, but whilst the leathers are still in intensive
care.... it's only Sofftener for me... applied liberally with a brush....

Regards

John Stein

Seen the picture?
The original color can be seen where the rear seat belt normaly rests and at the bottom of the door. Both places are protected from the mercyless sun we have here in the UK :-(
Also note the darkening patina effect on the handle making it look darker again.
At the top of the rear seat, where the sun is stongest and on the back of the rear headrests the bleaching effect of the sun has even removed the light brown color further. It now looks greenish - I believe thats the color of the acid to get the flesh of the freshly skinned leather.

How could I clean the leather. It got stains and looks grubby( door handles ) or even better get the whole lot stained back to the original color. What can be done?
