e23 seven series compared to e28 5 series (archive)

hi everyone, new to this board and to these cars. Just wondering how a 7 e23 compares to a 5 e28, i have heard nothing but good stuff about the e28 5 series and just wondering if the 7 series is the same, are they about the same in reliability and maintanence, safety? thanks
