IMHO, I couldn't even imagine putting simple green on leather. It is WAY WAY WAY to harsh.....
Better to use any of the cleaners made specifically for leather. I have been "rescuing" my 745 and ///M6 black buffalo leather from near death experiences and I can tell you, that even with the best of cleaners, the dirt will not come off until the leather is softened. It has taken me about 12 weeks and 6 liberal applications of Sofftener, applied with a brush and rubbed in with a latex glove covered hand to get the leather to change from a faded green brittle cardboard like substance to reasonably soft BLACK ( !!!! ) leather.
Then using a soft towel and CLEAR water, I wiped down the leather seats and the water turned black with CRUD !!!!!! Trust me, it was not the dye from the leather.... Just black dirty crud....
I followed up buy scrubbing the leather again with Lexol cleaner, applied with the wifes new battery powered shower whirly gig scrubber thingy. I was rewarded with another batch of dirt.... (Cost me a nice dinner for using her new scrubber thing... but it was worth it)
Long stroy short.... I would not even consider putting simple green on my leather.... If it spots and peals paint (and it does) I sure as heck am not going to put it on leather, especially if I want the leather to last...
But again... Just my $.02, my cars, and my way of doing things....
