Yes, remove the seat.

There are several motors under the seat with tow cables on each motor, the cables apparently shrink with age and begin to slip in the motor or gear drive. You can trim the jacket of the cable enough so the the end again makes solid contact. There is a detailed post in the archives.


In order to fix a twisted seat problem,do i have to remove the seat?It's 1988 735i Feels like something is slipping when I try to bring the back of the seat to an up right posistion.....Eugene
