The info is not correct 1st the forward or "A" pack is the problem child and it is NOT used in reverse there for their theroy is not correct but here is the REAL reason you should not rev in P or N: If you rev the motor in Park or Reverse it increases pressure in the trans and the steel sealing rings for the "A" (forward) pack can not hold the oil from appling the "A" pack there for it causes premature "A" pack failure. The fix is the replacement of the steel sealing rings to Teflon rings they keep the oil where it is supposed to be and not in the pack! Hope this makes sense and that my friends is the REAL deal on the 4HP22/24 both E and H. So it affects ALL ZF 4HP22/24's from their inception to I belive 94.

Folks,
I've seen references to "not revving engine when in Park or Neutral." I just found this link that explains (at a level that even I can understand :) why you shouldn't do this. In summary, the clutch packs pressurize in the trans as soon as you shift into any gear. When going back to Park or Neutral they DON'T depressurize:

Happy parking,
