I have a simple question, how much horsepower does the E23 1987 735i have? In my Chilton manual it says:

1986 735i : 209ci (3428) 182@5400 and 213@4000

1987 735i : 209ci (3428) 208@5700 and 225@4000

They both have the same bore and stroke. The compression on the 86 is 8.0:1 and the 87 is 9.0:1. The 1988 has the same engine as an 87.

There is a conflict here, some places say 182 for the 87 and som places say 208 for the 87. Which is it??

And for the record, my 735i was built in 5/86 I think, and sold as an 87.
