The E-23 735 has the 182 HP engine, the later E-32 body has the 208 HP engine. Yes, the bore and stroke are the same but the compression ratio, head, intake valves and engine management aren't. The potential power was there, the earlier engine in euro trim had 218 HP but not on this side of the pond. As far as production dates go, BMW sometimes starts making next years model kind of early in the year, but then again, if we expect them in the showroom in September, after the slow boat across the Atlantic, shipping cross country etc...
