The sawz-all method works well. First cut out the center piece and pull or punch it out. It took a couple of whacks (from above the subframe) to loosen the corroded center piece from the pin. The cut into the outer shell requires a square cut to cut through it completely and evenly across its length. If done right you will notice a slight binding in the saw blade as you cut completely through. You don't want to continue cutting into the subframe. The outer shell can then be coiled and slipped out. demet
Does anybody have any suggestions on how to remove the sub frame bushings from the sub frame itself. I have tried a gear puller which only succeeds in pulling the sub frame, bushing and all off the center bolt. I tried to burn it out with a Burnz-O-matic but that doesn't seem to get hot enough and i'm concerned that a hotter torch may take the temper out of the center bolt. I'm going to try to cut it out with a sawz-all tomorrow but would like to get some others experiances with these annoying little busings. Thanks in advance.
