After driving for a couple of minutes there is a bit of white smoke coming from underneath the car, somewhere near the exhaust pipe, and after a minute or so it goes away. The car is running perfectly, no hesitation or anything weird, just this bit of smoke - it was enough to force me to the side of the road and open the hood. It looked like it was coming from underneath the car, just behind the firewall around the exhaust system. Any clues?
Thanks,
Ed

Besides the possibility of oil leaking on the exhaust pipe, it could be coolant leaking out of the heater core and dripping down on the pipe. Can you smell the coolant while driving the car?
Next time you get home and stop the engine place a clean sheet of cardboard under the car where the leak is occuring. Then before you start the engine check the cardboard to see if it is oil or coolant.
Let us know what you find.
