Have you looked for the paint code sticker? If there is one it is probably near the fuse box just in front of the strut tower. It should have the paint name and in small numerals in the bottom left corner the three digit paint code. The numbers along the right edge of the sticker must be the sticker's part number. Again, the paint code is only three digits. (At least that the setup on my '86.) Hope that helps!

I have a 83 733i. I would like to know the factory color name for it. It is like a dark brown chocolate - almost black. The seats inside are black on the inside and brown on the outside...Any idea's?
