Opinion Wanted -- '84 735i (archive)

My wife's friend wants her to buy this '84 735i. Now she wants me to go "look" at it. I need to know what to look for.

Particulars:
1. I have not seen the car at this writing.
2. Asking price is $1800.
3. 160K miles.
4. Owner is a BMW mechanic --. he said 'over the phone'
a. one cylinder burns oil, using plug extenders to prevent fouling.
b. everything works, lites, AC, brakes, . . . everything.
c. body has no dents, couple very minor scratches, metalic grey, sides look great, top is starting to fade.
d. has smog cert.

Let me know what to look for,
