Jereon,

My limited experience says that you've got a vacuum leak in one of the air control flap actuators/hoses. It's normal for A/C and Recirc to be on at the same time. When the temp outside is relatively warmer than your internal setting than the car will automatically close the fresh air flap (could be where your leak is) and just cool the inside air. On my car I see the recirc light go on and off at various times through the cycle. Do you hear the hissing in other settings?

In terms of AC being cold it could be many problems. Do you still have original R12 system?Make sure you search the archive for HVAC issues and you'll get pages of good stuff.

Good luck,

Hi all,

What's broken in the HVAC when both lights are on from airco + air recycling? In this position a constantly hissing sound is heard, but only when the fan is on.

There is no or very little cooling, is this related or is there more that is wrong then?

Another thing (typical for E23 I think); the fuel meter works fine until there is about 20 liters in the tank. Then it suddenly drops to zero. According to the computer it then still can drive another 150 kms. I drove it until it said 55 kms, but then still no warning light in the dash. What's causing this?

Regards,

Jeroen
