This is a really basic question..... What are the recommendations for the best way to get under my car. I've got a set of those drive-on ramps and that's been OK for oil changes and dirty foreheads. I now want to be able to get under the car and do "real" work and I'm not sure the best way to do it. How do you guys jack-up and keep your cars in the air? Please recommend specific equipment so that I can search eBay and the paper for the right stuff

Thanks much!
Ted

Hi Ted,
I use 4 ramps, 2 jacks, and a couple of old trees waiting to be chopped into firewood. The stumps/wood gives me peace of mind that the whole car is not going to crash down on me if the car were to roll down the ramps after the jack failed. I think that is very foolproof. Best of luck.
