It's .012" for inlet and exhaust valves with engine cold. You can get Chilton's manual for BMW models from 1970 to 1988 - it has specs and some repair info specific to 733. While you're in there take a look at your cam lobes - they sometimes don't get enough oil from the oiler bar and get worn... check before you put the cover back on.
