I just fixet the exact same issue for Bruce H.
his was do the identical thing as yours did,
he send me his cable assembly but it tested
out fine, I thought first it was a spripet
gear because he said it soundet like a mashiengun,
but what that was it was the megnatic ingage and
disingage getting the wrong message from the brain.
Then I said after checking all that "Brain"

He knows he has bin there done that now :)
