Question for the experienced. Isn't it better to have a significant amount of gas in the tank when doing such work? My understanding is that the fumes are far more volatile than the liquid so the more liquid, the less fumes. However, common sense would indicate that you want an empty tank. I've never worked on a gas tank so I'm hoping the wise and alive out there can shed some light on this issue.Ted R. '84 745i "Fraulein"
Ok, today, I unpluged the power to my in-tank fuel pump, and my car ran just the same, and i can't hear the pump when pluged in. So does this mean its out? If so how do u recommend replacing it?
Thanks,
Daniel
