An empty fuel tank is onw of the most dangerous things to play with!!!!
Fuel is absorbed into the metal and this combintion with the fumes in the empty tank is extremely explosive!!! You have been WARNED!!!

The prefect mixture for petrol to detonate is when you can see the fuel but just not smell it, this is when the petrol/air mix is at it's optimum explosive mix, and exposed flame at this point is lethal.
One is much better off with a full tank. This said all work with fuel is dangerous...
