On Saturday I was hanging out with the local Bimwads over at the dyno shop. It's a regular Tim Allen session ...motors, power, dyno readings, smoking rubber...grunt, scratch, snort...

I was looking over a very fun 535i Dinan Turbo. In perusing the engine compartment, I noticed that Dinan uses a very sophisticated looking turbo boost management system that uses a CPU and an electric boost control module. The whole system is very similar to the factory 745i setup. It modulates boost at preprogrammed levels with a control module digital display inside the car. Dinan also has a chip to go along with all of this stuff, too. Has anyone ever modified their 745 with a unit like this?

I should mention however that the owner of the Dinan doesn't use the system. He keeps it off and prefers bouncing the turbo boost off the wastegate spring. (Sounds like what other 745i owners have done with the adjustable wastegate modification and chip modification.) Fuel supply on the Dinan, by the way, appears stock.

I should mention...Russ took us around the block in the Dinan...bounced off the rev limiter in 3rd gear and slammed on the Brembos. Scha-wing!

When he slammed the brembos, it made me happy I chose briefs vs boxers earlier that morning.)
