My owner's manual says this: "For the first 1,200 miles, drive at varying engine and road speeds, but do not exceed 2/3 of the permitted road speed in each gear. Do not use full throttle or the kick-down position...at all." It also says not to lug the engine and to try to keep revs above 1,500 RPM. It says nothing at all about RPM limit, so I'm inclined to say that if you drive "normally," everything should break-in just fine.

This is the best I can do for you. Personally, my comfort level is to keep shifts below 3,000 RPM, which means shifting somewhere in the 2,000 range.
