Last year I bought an '85 for $1000 not-running, from Texas. Cost another $800 to have it shipped (it costs more if they have to winch it on and off the truck). Turned out the coil wire had shorted to the coil case and fried the wire in the harness. Fixed in 30 min.

It has 253k miles. Engine is perfect, doesn't burn oil, lots of power, turbo comes on fine. Leather interior is in great shape. But the 4HP22EH shifts really hard at light throttle, has a dent in the RF door, it failed inspection on power steering leaks, u-joints, idler arm, brakes were down to metal (I put on new rotors pads and hoses all the way around), tires (got four 50% used TRX's cheap), wiper scuff on windshield, sharp broken trim on dented front bumper. It needs total repaint (black paint after 15 years of Houston sun is unbelievably oxidized), a/c doesn't work....

Still worth the $1800. I doubt I'll be going for the $4000 paint job though.
