Update: The issue with the melted wiring was a fan that was drawing too much amperage. Apparently, my fan housing was bent slightly which caused the blades of the fan to catch on the housing. When the fan started, it would not move until it got enough "oomph" to overcome the friction. I have rewired and it has been fixed.
