Big Al,
Thanks for the information about the repair manual, I ordered one at my local BMW-dealer immediately. Maybe it wil be a lot more easy to fix the problems spoken about on this forum, I have encountered a lot them during my time as a E-23 owner.

Greatings from Bernhard,
The Netherlands

The first unpleasant discovery I made when I got my 7 is how little reliable literature there seems to be. The big three, Bentley, Haynes, and Chilton, aren't much help on this particular car. A friend of mine recently picked up a 633 csi, 1981, and is having the exact same nightmare. He went so far as to call BMW directly, and even they were not terribly helpful.

BMW AG sent me a note when I enquired. The basic contents are :-
"There will be a repair manual from about December onwards, which covers all E23 7 series models. The order number is 01 56 0 030 284 and you may order it at any BMW dealer".
I intend to order one. Hope this helps !!!
