Has to do with the surface finish of the rotor and also on the type and how well the brake pads bead in after installation. Anti-squeal compound can reduce or eliminate the squeal. If your old pads were grooved in any way because of the rotors then you may experience a higher squeal quotient. Since most pads are relatively inexpensive most of us choose to replace both rotors and pads at the same time. That's not to say that if you're on a low budget that you can't reuse the old pads if they fine. Some of us in that position have sanded the old pads down a bit and reused them with no side effects. Curiously, if you travel in some parts Europe where car repairs are expensive and incomes low, you'll find that the prevalent mentality is not to throw anything away until it is totally broke or used up.

Hi guys,

What could this squeeling be ??

It only happens when the pedal is at certain position, not pushed totally to ground... stops squeeling when pressing brake pedal completely..

Also when letting brake pedal loose to start accelerating again.. like if the pads took a little time to separate from disk..

sounds only from the front.

Just had both front discs changed ... new ones.
But same pads .. according to mechanic,, they are still good..

Anybody has any clues or comments ?? is there any simple thing to help (sprays, oils ??) ..

Thanks in advance for your help people..

Ian.
