Again a piece of software which ripens with the customes.

I have tried to install Windows XP.
On all cheap computers on the network it went on with no problem.
On the well built and expensive server it didn't.
There does not appear to be sufficient Hardware support.
It appears to chuck everything onto one IRQ channel and that is very much asking for trouble.
If you have several USB device connected, do not try it.
It may work but also not.
On a notebook computer with an AMD K6-2 350Hz
with 64MB Windows XP instalation took over 3.5 hours
Resumee:
If you like to pay Billy big bucks for being a beta tester. Go for it.

If you know enough about computers and can afford to mess around. Go for it - it is faster and more stable than Win 98SE or Windows 2000 & ME.

Otherwise wait for approx 3-6 months until the driver situation has changed and the first service release is out.

I apologize for posting this message here, but it sort of is appropriate, because if it goes wrong you won't be able to access this forum for a while.

Best Regards
Ralf

PS. Email warning. Do not open any Emails, even from people you know, if they contain an attachment and the message text is not personally addressed to you (Hello friend, I need your advice on this) is bad news.
Delete it without opening. Otherwise it will start mailing your datafiles to the people in your addressbook & the virus of course.
Outlook 2002 (Office XP) allows just to download the headers first.
You can decide than which messages to delete and which to download, while the stuff is still on the server.
This feature was once there before in "Exchange"(before Outlook) of Windows 95 operating system.
