1985 735i how connect loudspeakers? (archive)

One week ago, I bought the aforementioned car without a radio. Now I tried to install one but do not manage to get the loudspeakers working properly. There are, besides the power connectors, four wires: yellow, blue (both are connected with the front/rear fader), white, and one brown wire that can be put between the supply and the radio so it gets ground from the power wires. If I connect this last one, no sound can be heard at all. If I only connect a "plus" of the loudspeaker outputs with one of the yellow and blue wires without the ground wire having connected, there is some little distorted sound, but only if I turn the radio to maximum volume. With reversed polarity there again is no sound at all.
Does someone know how to connect this?
