SAAB Pikes Peak Hill Climb car

4 cyl. 2L. w/ Garrett turbo & intercooler
750hp @ 8,000rpm
518 lb-ft. @ 6,500rpm
2.3 sec. 0-60 (thus proving it is not torque that wins off the line, it is getting the power to the ground). This car is four wheel drive. Of course, weight is also a factor for speed:
2,090 lbs.
This engine developed so much power for its size, the cylinder head bolts have to go completely through the block!

The main problem with SAAB now in my opinion? General Motors has their fingers in the pie. Look at SAAB's variable compression engine coming out. Does anyone think GM could come out with something like that? Guess I was burned too many times on GM here in the states.

Just my $.02.

SAAB's Pike Peek's Hill Climb used a 4 cyl. turbo engine that developed 750hp at 8,000 rpm. Now, if they just doubled the number of cylinders with a bi-turbo.....

:-)
