Well, the blower appears shot and will not turn wih 12V applied. Most likely the brushes are worn out, but I'm not sure I want to start a science project to fix the brushes when the rest of it looks so ugly. A new one is $200 though.
One glitch: The defrost button does not energize the blower high-speed relay. After pulling the center of the dash out, I found that the proper control signal does not come out of the back of the air volume/temp selector wheel assembly. This is bad...
