That's cheap if OEM. Consider this, if OEM it is old production which has dryed. Another approach is justdashes.com in LA. They get $650 for a rebuild with fresh vinyl. They primarily do show/concours cars.

I have a core as I was going to go this route but what keeps stopping me is the major PIA of the r&r of the dash.
