I know there is an oil leak (and some burning) and I know there is a coolant leak, I havent been able to track either down for sure. I know near the back of my engine (between block and firewall) there is an oil leak somewhere, the coolant leak? you got me where that is for sure, but its somewhere near the rear of the engine compartment (I'm guessing). Also whilst checking my oil leval I noticed an ever so slight green tint to it, but whenever I change my oil there is no coolant in it (that I've noticed).

So where are my possible leaks (Hopefully is not the head/head gasket)? How do I know for sure I dont have antifreeze in the oil? If it is a cracked head or blown head gasket...whats the cheapest fix....(I hope it doesnt come to that)

Thanks,
~James

If you have an oil leak at the rear of the engine, let's assume it is not a bad head gasket, then I would check the oil pressure sender which is on the top, rear, left (US driver's) side of the head. A sender with an electrical connection. Second option is the gasket at the end of the cam. It is for a cover on the back of the head, between firewall and the head. Takes specially bent 10 mm wrenches to change.

For the coolant, check all the way around the head gasket to see if there may be some weeping of coolant. I've seen this at cylinder #1.

If necessary best is to change the head gasket yourself, if engine has more life in it. Long job but not too difficult.

If oil gets in coolant there are test kits for this. For water in the oil, you can see a nice mocha mix.

Let us know.
