I went ahead and drained out my diff fluid and replaced it with Redline 75W90...unfortunately in my case it didn't seem to help. But its worth a shot.

You should be able to locate a used diff in good condition for around $100 to $200.

If you're in the SE, check with Vines in Alabama - they have good prices. Good luck.
