735i stalls when hot (archive)

my 1985 735 starts well when cold,runs for exactly 15 minutes then cuts out.It might start again, run for 3 minutes then cuts out.Also when running if the throttle cable is pulled suddenly the revs drop and return to normal. Any help much appreciated.
