Which nipple did you hook up to? If you hook up a pressure hose to the diaphragm of the waste gate it must be enough to overcome the spring inside of the wastegate. If you have a ruptured diaphragm then you will never overcome the spring pressure of the wastegaste with boost pressure alone. Depending on what year your 745 is (84 model and up has a lighter spring)the weight of the spring in the wastegate is what controlls closure of the valve. You have to remember that exhaust pressure is whats trying to open the valve. The spring pushes it down to keep it closed. This is how the mod on the wastegate with the screw on top of the spring works.As far as replacing the diaphragm you have to cut the can off. If you do this you might as well do the mod on the spring housing. I have personaly had little success on repairing the diaphragm inside due to the way it is attached inside.
