If your alternator to ground cable is faulty (would not be the first one), this will lead to damage to the new battery within 6 months.
Showing up at one or more dead cells.
I had been fooled to long and it had cost me several consultations with useless BMW Specialists. It was only when my car went out of juice on the way to a date that I had a go myself. Within 2 minutes the fault was found.
Only because I trusted "BMW - Service" I drove arround for almost a year, bought two batteries in this time and broke down several times.
The ground cable was by then cleanly broken of its contact ring at the end. Right through the connector. Unless I had not almost violentely pulled on it, it would still be there half broken, restricting flow of currency and still drive me nuts.
Check the ring connector with a torch and pull at both ends of the ground cable. Doesn't cost much.

Regards
Ralf

PS. A new battery will give you the impression for quite a while that the problem was solved.
But why does appear or is the battery broken in the first place??
