Anyone have any suggestions on lowering the NOx emissions on my 1983 733i? Here in jersey the allowable NOx is 1110 my car scored 1170! Close only counts in horse shoes. The car runs fine, the O2 Sensor is good, all other emissions were well below normal. A mechanic told me to get the catalitic convereter real hot by by keeping RPM's around 2500 all the way to the test site. The hotter the cat the more NOx is eliminated.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

John M

with nox that close, try this kludge too. run the fuel down to 1/4 tank and add 6 12 oz bottles of dry gas. the alcohol burns cooler and its exhaust is h2o and co2 not nox
