I replaced the 3.5 turbo in my '86 745 with a non turbo 3.5 from a '85 735. Problem now is that I have gone through 2 torque convetters and one pump since my mechanic took out the original transmission, saying it was not compatible (ECU wise) with the new 3.5 engine. Now, the car is in permanent neutral until the mechanic decides how to fix it. Anyone have any ideas on what to do? Should have left the turbo in - it was blown (bad supplier who would not honor their product) and worn engine (230K).
