From Demet "I haven't experienced instrument problems on either my e28 or e23 but in my reading about these failures it's either one or all of the following: loose connections, dead si batteries if you have them, and dead capacitors on the board. A number of e32 posts indicated the capacitors as the reason for dead instruments. The link for the fix is included below. e28 instrument failures have been linked to dead si batteries. You'll have to pull the cluster out to verify this but either fix is just a couple of dollars and well worth the research effort to fix it on your own."

It seems like you might check his repair link for the capacitors .....Don Lawrence

I actually already tried this and it was no good. I eventually resolved to just taking the batteries out completely and things worked fine for about 3 years... so I don't thinks its the batteries. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Nick
