Well, here in southern Germany it's still winter and the temperature is about 40°F (5°C) or colder, so the fact that the jet heating comes on doesn't appear to be unnormal.
In fact it seems to be the smell of plastic. Maybe I should wait until there really happens something to the jet/heating assembly and then change it with a new one... :-)
