I just ran 2 wires out to a dual AA battery holder I stole from my 11 yr old :-) Seems to work fine. I also ran a ground to the back of the temp and fuel gauge, and so far no metronoming :-0

Kevin yes one is a bridge,
I do not recall which one,
bin a while, but it should be
straight forward if you look at it,
and then you should as you say only need
to, but all I did is turn the board around
and sodered it enstead of the leads.
