E23 Recalls? (archive)

Whenever I'm looking around on the web for stuff on my 733i I always come to these pages with recall lists and the like. I know what recalls are and I also know they work generally. Maybe I'm wrong, but if BMW issues a recall specific to my vehicle, can't I take it to a dealer and have the work performed at no cost (billed to BMW)? Has anyone else seen this? Just do a internet search under "733i recalls" and you'll see what I mean.
